Liturgical Seminar for the Clergy of the Diocese
of Chikmagalur
The Diocese of Chikmagalur organized a one-day
Liturgical Seminary for the clergy on 4th August
2025 at Spoorthi Sadana. The central theme of
the seminar was "Directives and Guidelines in
the Liturgical Celebration." This timely and
enriching initiative was designed to deepen the
understanding and enhance the liturgical
ministry of the diocesan clergy.
The resource person for the day was Reverend Dr.
Rudolph Pinto, OCD, Secretary of the Commission
for Liturgy of the Conference of Catholic
Bishops of India (CCBI). Drawing on his
extensive theological expertise and pastoral
experience, Fr. Pinto offered clear, structured,
and practical insights into the latest
liturgical norms. He contextualized these
guidelines within the pastoral life and mission
of the local Church, making them relevant and
applicable for day-to-day liturgical
celebrations.
The seminar featured engaging discussions and
active participation from the clergy, who sought
clarifications and shared experiences. It
provided a valuable opportunity to renew their
commitment to celebrating the liturgy with
reverence, authenticity, and pastoral
attentiveness.
In his concluding address, Most Reverend Dr. T.
Anthony Swamy, Bishop of Chikmagalur, expressed
heartfelt gratitude to Fr. Rudolph Pinto for his
enlightening and pastoral contributions. He
encouraged all the clergy to be faithful,
creative, and responsible stewards of the
Church's liturgical life. Fr Anil Lobo and Fr Alwyn Joe Commission for Media and Communication
