The 78th Annual Feast of Our Lady of Perpetual
Succour Church, Koppa, was celebrated with
immense devotion and grandeur. The spiritual
journey commenced on the eve of the feast,
marking the final day of the Novena to Our Lady
of Perpetual Succour. Rev. Fr. Prashanth, Parish
Priest of Santveri, offered the Holy Mass, while
Rev. Fr. John Paul, Parish Priest of M. Dasapura,
delivered a stirring homily, breaking the Word
of God.
The evening was illuminated by a solemn Chariot
Procession through the streets of Koppa, serving
as a vibrant expression of faith and devotion.
The spiritual activities culminated with
Benediction, filling the faithful with grace and
peace. Following the spiritual celebrations, a
fellowship meal was served to all present in
honor of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour,
fostering a spirit of community and unity.
On the feast day, Rev. Fr. Chowrappa, Assistant
Parish Priest of the Cathedral, blessed candles
and distributed them to every family,
symbolizing the light of Christ in their homes.
The Solemn Feast Mass was celebrated with great
reverence and was presided over by Rev. Fr. Paul
D'Souza, Parish Priest of Balehonnur, who also
delivered an inspiring homily.
On this momentous occasion, Rev. Fr. Paul
D'Souza, the esteemed Silver Jubilarian, was
felicitated and honored for his unwavering
dedication and exemplary service to the Diocese.
Additionally, Rev. Frs. Sunil Rodrigues, David
Kumar, John Paul, Prashanth, and Anil Lobo (in
absentia) were honored by their batchmate, Fr.
Melwin Tellis, for reaching the significant
milestone of completing 10 years of devoted
priesthood.
The celebration was further graced by the
presence of 25 priests who joined in the
festivities, offering prayers and blessings for
the parish community. The event was a remarkable
display of faith, unity, and devotion, leaving
the faithful spiritually enriched and uplifted.
